It’s been a few weeks since I have posted. I have lots of stories to share and will get these posted in the next few days.
I often neglect to make the time to get away to reflect. Well I got to do this with Tim a week ago. We met in the morning at the offices in Peterborough with one task; to plan out our upcoming fundraiser in Haliburton. It’s going to be a pie fundraiser at St. George’s on Monday, May 7th. We needed to come up with a creative way to share the ministry in a way that people will catch the vision and respond financially. After a little disorganized beginning to the day, Tim said, let’s get out of here. We walked for a good hour, or maybe more. Chatted about life and ministry in Haliburton and prayed what God would have us do. It was refreshing and insightful. We then headed for lunch and returned to the offices. Within a few hours, we got our game plan and wrote down our thoughts. I am excited about sharing this with supporters on May 7th.
This made me think of how valuable getting away to refocus is. Ministry can be tough at times and it always amazes me how recharged I get from being in nature. Being a lover of the outdoors makes this so easy. I think I am going to make this a priority for me each week to take an hour or so to get away in nature, to seek God and find that rest.
