One of the goals of Youth Unlimited is strategic partnerships with other organizations. I have been chatting lots with the Pregnancy Care Centre and am seeing how we both encounter some of the same youth. It is so wonderful to have a place to go for pregnancy help and then to be able to provide for mothers and families. Impacting a generation with hope is the message we both want to share. I see it often, hopelessness in the eyes of today’s youth. Why? I think because few people take the time to extend love and invest in the life of a youth.

Youth Unlimited now has offices at the AETC. When additional space became available at the school, I inquired of being able to use it and now we are set up. It is so great for a couple of reasons. It takes the office away from my house, allows me to be at the school more, and it is convenient having the office and the Bridge Youth Centre in the same building. Stop by and see me some time. It’s is located at upstairs at 73 Victoria Street.

Dana, Samuel, and I had the opportunity to visit Highland Lakes Community Church in Minden. It was wonderful to see this new church plant impacting the community. Pastor Ron and Elaine are a great team. I shared for a few minutes what is happening with the Bridge and Youth Unlimited. There is a great excitement when something new emerges.
This Sunday, I am planning a visit to West Guilford Baptist Church.

The Bridge, Haliburton is Launched

Great things have been happening with the Bridge. I have been too long sharing stories again. We got things going on Nov. 16th and we had about 10 or so show up the first night along with a reporter from the Echo. It is exciting hearing the buzz around town and the positive feedback that is happening. God continues to meet all of our needs. I have been spending lots of time connecting with our new team of volunteers over the past few weeks. There is still a need for volunteers. I would like to train 12 more people. As needs arise, we will continue to rely on our volunteers who can be there for our youth. The Bridge is only the beginning. Again, we are asking, What is the greatest felt need?

There was an excitement last evening as 9 people came out for our volunteer training for the Bridge Youth Centre. We open a week tomorrow on the 16th. Each person there has something to give and that it incredible. The need for the bridge has never been more apparent. The time is now and we are going for it. I shared last night, the bridge has been over 4 years in the making. It is going fast now, but lots has happened behind the scenes to get us to this point. Pray for the volunteers as we gear up to launch and for the youth that will come out.
