This week has been tough. Been helping and directing several youth to those that can offer some support. It’s difficult to mention specifics, but please pray for 3 youth that are facing some obstacles in life and that God would bring the support people they need. Relationships take time and dialoguing with each one has been excellent. I am learning lots and able to offer hope in each situation. As I see the need first hand, it impacts me hard. Hopelessness. In my context, lots of dialogue happens around the snack bar or pool table.

Today I felt like a little kid who had been waiting for something special for Christmas. A couple from the community gave us a donation and today he walked up the stairs with a Nintendo Wii. A real hot item this year. Wii is an interactive gaming system with great sports action. Many of the youth have been asking about it and are excited. It will be one of our ‘draw factors’. The crazy thing is I didn’t have time to play with it cause I was getting ready for a team meeting this evening. There will be lots of time in the days to come. It is another story of God providing as I have shared a need.

Hey Everyone,
I was thinking today just how wonderful our team of volunteers are. On Friday, I was able to take off for Dana’s Christmas party and the weekend and hand it over to our amazing team. Tim came up from Peterborough too. This is encouraging for me.
As we look to the New Year, I am looking forward to training up more volunteers. My goal is to train 12 more and we can create 2 teams so people can have nights off. Also, there are many other opportunities that may be coming our way too. The youth centre is our proximity and once we start taking action for the youth’s lives, more people will be needed.

New Youth Coming to the Bridge
Posted by myunlimitedjourney under Haliburton Youth UnlimitedNo Comments
Friday night was lots of fun as we had several new youth come to the Bridge. One had heard that there was video games and wanted to check it out. Four others were back for a second time and one has been there all three nights that we have been open. It is incredible to see their faces light up as they enter and leave knowing it was a safe place to be. Learning the stories of each of these youth and learning their dreams, and wants, and struggles is so great. I look forward to the opportunity to create discipling communities where we can dialogue faith issues.
